RESEARCH
We fund scientific research and host educational programs that passionately conserve marine wildlife and instill empathy for this planet's amazing creatures.

American Fisheries Society x NMWF
The Nick Mayer Wildlife Fund is proud to partner with the American Fisheries Society (AFS) to help bring fisheries science and conservation into the mainstream. Through collaborative social media campaigns, original imagery promoting the AFS Annual Meeting, and fine art prints for top donors, this exciting partnership will help expand the reach and impact of vital fisheries research.
NECWA x NMWF
We are proud to partner with the New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance (NECWA) on a hands-on workshop at Mattapoisett Center School, where students learned to paint the diamondback terrapins they had raised in their classroom. We then joined the students in releasing the terrapins into the wild—an unforgettable experience connecting art, education, and conservation.
MISSION:
PREVENTING PLASTICS POLLUTION
We are working to partner with organizations that push for policies that reduce single-use plastics at the source, keeping millions of pounds of waste out of our seas each year. Our work supports campaigns to hold corporations accountable and promote sustainable alternatives. By tackling plastic pollution worldwide, we are protecting marine life and safeguarding healthy oceans for future generations.
MISSION:
PRESERVING PADDLEFISH POPULATIONS
We are working with The Caddo Lake Institute to protect the ancient American paddlefish, a species whose survival is threatened by dam construction and habitat loss. Together, we support efforts to restore natural river flows, reconnect critical spawning grounds, and improve water quality. Our work helps ensure that these prehistoric fish can thrive in the waterways they’ve inhabited for millions of years. By safeguarding the paddlefish, we are preserving an irreplaceable part of our natural heritage for generations to come.
MISSION:
BOOSTING BIG BASS
We are partnering with Texas Parks & Wildlife to strengthen the population of trophy-sized “ShareLunker” largemouth bass across the state. Together, we support selective breeding and stocking programs that produce bigger, healthier bass for Texas waters. Our efforts also promote responsible catch-and-release practices, ensuring these prized fish can thrive and reproduce. By boosting the ShareLunker population, we’re enhancing fishing opportunities and preserving a world-class bass fishery for generations to come.
